In the spring of 1942, the White Rose student resistance group was formed in Munich. Its members include the siblings Hans and Sophie Scholl, who participate in the creation and distribution of anti-Nazi leaflets highlighting the illegitimacy and criminality of the regime. They succeed in distributing leaflets until February 1943, when they are discovered, interrogated and brought to trial. The film, which is a reconstruction of historical events, was nominated for an Oscar for the best foreign language film.
