Matthew has a problem with family relationships. His psychiatrist knows it, his mother knows it, and his father, whom little Matthew murdered with a tractor, also recognized it. So it's no wonder that when the one-armed psychopath returns from treatment to find that his mother has secretly remarried, he goes berserk.

In his hatred, he sees a treacherous mother and stepfather wherever he looks. The corpses keep increasing like on a conveyor belt, and a bizarre relationship with the prostitute Vera is no redemption for the unstable Matthew.
